Becoming a Healer — Online

This piece — part review, part interview about my Remote Healing Mastery training — was written by Danai Spanoudakis of FLGH. I had the pleasure of talking with her about healing, holding space, and the deeper layers of this work, and she captured the essence of our conversation so beautifully.

If you’d like to read the original German version, you can find it here.
Below is the English translation.

This woman knows what she's doing — that’s my first thought as the screen lights up and il’il Sat Prem joins our planned Zoom meeting.

There’s something about her presence — that certain something — that makes me want to open up. I want to tell her what’s been on my mind, I want her support, I want to step into her space.

Holding space.
That’s what we talk about a lot during this hour. A space that isn’t just safe, welcoming, and inclusive, but a dimension of its own — one that extends far beyond the physical realm; a catalyst for deep, transformative experiences.

“This is exactly the skill many yoga teachers are missing — even though they’re good teachers. A truly great teacher has the ability to read, absorb, and shape the environment.”

And by shape, she means creating the conditions for students to have deep, transformative experiences in the first place. Being able to sense what’s happening right away and guide the class in a way that makes people feel both safe and free — so they can fully surrender to their process.

The good news: this can be learned, and your antennas can become more and more refined.

il’il Sat Prem is a Kundalini Yoga teacher, trainer, and healer. Her teacher was Guru Dev Singh Khalsa, from whom she learned the traditional healing practice Sat Nam Rasayan — in English: Deep Relaxation in the Flow of the Soul. From this, she developed her own method, Healing in the Flow, which is a key part of her Remote Healing Training.

What makes the Remote Healing Training special?

The Remote Healing Training is a 15-week online program where you learn how to transfer your meditative state to others — making healing tangible — with a focus on remote and online work. Because knowing how to create healing spaces virtually is an essential skill in our interconnected world.

Think of the training as an artful bridge between spirituality and technology, giving you — especially as a yoga teacher or coach — the ability to meet your students and/or clients in an even deeper, more attentive, loving, and transformative way.

In practical terms, this means:

  • You deepen your own meditation practice and learn to enter and sustain stable, transformative states. This elevates your yoga practice to a whole new level and opens spiritual dimensions you may not have experienced before.

  • You learn how to stay in constant energetic connection with your students and teach them from a state of flow.

  • You learn how to facilitate profound, spiritual, healing experiences for others.

  • You become equipped to offer 1:1 healing sessions and integrate them into your repertoire.

What is healing, really?

A healer knows how to hold space, energy, and atmosphere in a powerful way. They create a state for others — one that most people can hardly access in everyday life — where deep meditation and transformation can happen. A healer acts as a protector of the meditative state so that the receiving person can more easily surrender to their own process.

Emotional and energetic blockages can dissolve, triggering an impulse for healing — whether on a physical or psychological level. A healer creates a powerful space where clients can experience themselves beyond perceived limitations and grow past who they thought they were.

“Personal healing is about expanding one’s tolerance — tolerance for reality, for experience, for the flow of life, for untapped potential, for the full expression of one’s creative and life force, and ultimately, for the unfolding of one’s highest destiny.” – il’il Sat Prem

Why should a yoga teacher know healing?

il’il is absolutely certain:
Teachers are healers, and healers are teachers.
Their task is to create nurturing, nourishing spaces and guide others through them. Sadly, this aspect is almost never considered in modern yoga teacher trainings — even though it should be a core element of yoga practice.

As yoga teachers, that is exactly what we aim to do: to create a space that allows people to connect — with themselves, with others, and with the divine within and around us. Because through connection, we heal. Connection is healing. And it is connection that helps us grow and makes holistic transformation possible in the first place.

Sneak Peak: Healing in the Flow

In preparation for this article, il’il gives me a sneak peek into her method. I mean — if I’m going to write about this, I want to know what I’m talking about.

So I lie down. On the floor. In the middle of the office.

Outside, kids are yelling, parents are scolding, coworkers are moving around. Inside, I’m just as tense — my life is incredibly stressful right now.
I don’t have time to be lying here! my inner critic hisses.

il’il stays completely silent.
I lie there. I breathe.

And slowly — I drop in. Truly.
I consciously relax every single muscle — at least fifteen times. And something shifts. My to-dos haven’t magically disappeared, my life isn’t suddenly easier — but something in me is softer. Clearer. More at ease in my body.

il’il smiles. I smile back.
I have no idea what just happened.
But I know — I’d like to feel it again.

So how does Remote Healing actually work?

Remote Healing means relying fully on your inner wisdom and clear intuition to sense what is happening within another person — no matter whether you are physically together or only connected through a small screen.

How do you feel your client — and how do they feel you?
How can you remain connected and share a space, even when you’re physically far apart?

Because working remotely with someone requires even deeper concentration and finer perception, it’s about cultivating the most subtle aspects of awareness. Tiny nuances. Energetic atmospheres. And above all, developing enough self-trust and inner stability to sense, translate, and hold all of that.

In order for someone else to have an experience through you, you need to cultivate the ability to project your energy and meditative state powerfully — even across distance.

In the Remote Healing Training, you learn how to enter and maintain that state.

The foundational elements of the training include:

  • Shuniya – You cultivate a stable yet highly energized inner stillness and learn to sustain it.

  • Pratyahara – The yogic withdrawal of the senses as described by Patanjali; everything happens within.

  • Connection – You hold the entire group within your field of perception.

  • Projection – You project your meditative state onto others, allowing them to access meditative and healing experiences themselves.

The core technique you’ll practice throughout the entire course is called Applied Silence.

It means tuning your own energy to a higher vibrational level — without burning out — and holding that space steadily for yourself and others, so that deep meditative states become possible.

Applied Silence is part of il’il’s own method, Healing in the Flow, which she primarily uses in her work. In this method, the healer sits and meditates, while the receiving person lies down, relaxes, and simply receives.

Both Healing in the Flow and Applied Silence make deeply powerful group experiences possible.

These experiences are also characterized by a kind of simultaneity:
In the end, you go through your own healing process while simultaneously sensing the healing of those around you — both are inherently connected.
Heal yourself, and you heal the world.

The 15-week course is divided into five modules:

1) Foundations of Remote Healing
You cultivate (or deepen) your healing abilities, learn the basics of Remote Healing, and strengthen your meditative, projective presence.

2) The Power of Inner Stillness
You explore the potency of your meditative mind and learn the technique of Applied Silence — discovering how to maintain your energetic strength, even when working remotely with individuals or groups.

3) Energy Projection and Transformation
You dive deeper into Remote Healing and learn additional strategies. You sharpen your perception to notice even subtle shifts in mood and energy, turn your intuition into a reliable tool, and — most importantly — learn how to project your meditative state across distance.

4) Advanced Healing Techniques
Here, you learn how to read, hold, and attune an entire group remotely — guiding them into coherence and shared presence.

5) Strategies for a Flourishing Online Healing Business
This module is dedicated to everything that helps you bring your work into the world:
marketing, online presence, confidently showing up on or off camera, and reaching the people you feel called to work with. This part is just as important as the others — especially if you want to use your skills professionally.

What else can you expect?

These techniques are complemented by Kundalini Yoga and Pranayama practices that stabilize and nourish your system and your prana.

  • The training is taught in English, but you can ask il’il questions in German if needed.

  • Alongside weekly group sessions, teachings, practices, and meditations, there is always space for live Q&A with il’il and the guest teachers.

  • Each week you receive exercises to test in real life, followed by reflection and discussion.

  • You’ll receive feedback on your practical work, and there’s a forum where you can connect with your fellow trainees.

By the end, you receive a certificate of completion, have built a network of like-minded people, and — very likely — have come a meaningful step closer to yourself. You’ll also gain the confidence to step into the world as a healer.

Who is il’il Sat Prem?

il’il Sat Prem is not only a Kundalini Yoga teacher, trainer, and healer — she is, above all, deeply human. Her story is filled with twists, obstacles, heartbreak, doubt, loss — but just as much with joy, courage, and spiritual awakening.

She first worked as a musician. Nearly 20 years ago, through a stroke of luck and destiny, her path led her to Kundalini Yoga — and eventually to her teacher, Guru Dev Singh Khalsa, a renowned yogi and master healer.
For 15 years, until his passing in 2021, she studied with him, mastering and teaching the mystical healing art Sat Nam Rasayan, which translates to Deep Relaxation in the Flow of the Soul.

When the pandemic hit in 2020 and travel and healing work became nearly impossible, she found herself at a turning point — especially as the world needed healing more than ever.
Since the tradition of Sat Nam Rasayan does not allow online teaching, she made a life-changing decision: to leave the school and start her own — the School of Applied Silence.

Since then, she has made this profound, mystical healing practice accessible to anyone who wants to learn — through her healing classes, retreats, and immersions.
She also teaches about healing, holding space, and meditation in Panch Nishan’s Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in Berlin.

“il’il is an absolutely wonderful teacher and healer — even when you just walk through the door, her healing presence wraps around you like a warm cocoon. With great love, warmth, and clarity, she guides you into the immense subtlety and vastness of silence, inner knowing, and finally, coming home to what was always within you. Savor her words, taste them, let them touch you… they will make you fly.”
